KJS we are direct mail

Print is at the heart of what we do

Every direct mail campaign involves print of some description, whether

it’s personalised letters, envelopes or full colour brochures or newsletters. With a full range of litho and digital print services in-house, using the latest in print technology, we can handle your whole campaign, quickly and efficiently to ensure we hit your mailing deadline, however tight it may be.

Our in-house print services include:

Full colour litho printing

Our LED UV press is the latest in print technology. It uses UV frequency of light, rather than heat, to dry the ink on the printed sheets, making it the most sustainable print press on the market.

The benefits over traditional litho presses include:

  • Removes the need for starch powder sprays that contaminate the workplace
  • Low energy usage
  • Printed sheets are ready for finishing or personalisation as soon as they’re taken off the press
  • Ink is not absorbed into the paper so we produce a much sharper and higher quality image unrivalled by a conventional commercial printer.

As well as printing in conventional four colour process, extra colours can be added, such as Pantone spot or metallic colours and we can run a wide range of paper weights and finishes.

Full colour digital print

Our Xerox full colour digital printers deliver high quality results, comparable to litho print.

Digital printing is ideal for short runs or quick turnarounds for items such as postcard mailings, leaflets, letters, and brochures. It’s not unusual for us to print and mail within hours of receiving files.

Unlike laser printing, where the personalisation is only in black, digital print allows personalisation to be in colour. This may be text, or logos and graphics. The variable print can be in as many positions on the mail piece as you need so each item is completely unique to its recipient for direct mail that makes an impact.

Envelope overprinting

Whether it’s just a return address or a full message, one colour or full colour, 20 or 100,000 we can supply your envelopes.

Print finishing

Our team of print finishing service includes:

  • Trimming/Guillotine
  • Folding
  • Creasing
  • Stitching
  • Tabbing
  • Laminating
  • UV varnish

But, we don’t only print what we mail.

Whilst a lot of what we print is mailed out, we also carry out a large volume of stand alone print work, including letterheads, leaflets, brochures, catalogues, business cards, vouchers.  We’re always happy to provide a quote.

We also offer large format print, including posters, roller banners, foamex

boards, and lots more. Click here to find out more.

Frequently Asked Questions

If you have any questions or would like a quote on your next project, just get in touch, and we’ll be happy to help!

  • Do you have minimum quantities?

No! We can print as many or as few items as you need.

  • How do I know if I need litho or digital print?

Don’t worry, we’ll decide! We’ll match your job to the most suitable print method, depending on the format, quantity and deadline. The quality between litho and digital is equal.

  • Can I use your print services even if I’m not mailing?

Yes, of course. Whilst we mail out a lot of what we print, we also carry out print for many clients, which isn’t. From leaflets, flyers, catalogues, brochures and lots more, we can print and dispatch anywhere in the country.

  • I don’t know what paper weight to print on?

We’re always happy to advise on the most suitable weight and finish of paper to suit your job. Getting the choice of paper right is crucial as it can make such a difference to the look and feel of your printed items.

We’ll also check, before printing, that the paper weight won’t cause your mailing to go into a heavier postage bracket. If necessary, we can send paper samples to you before we print.

  • Can I have a message printed onto my envelopes?

We have envelope printing in-house, so we can print a marketing message or images, as well as the return address and PPI. We can print all envelopes from C6 up to C4 size.

  • What format should I supply my artwork?

We ideally require artwork to be supplied as a high-resolution PDF, supplied with 3mm bleed and crop marks on all pages. If you need help in supplying your artwork, just give us a call and we can help.
