Special effects with print finishing
Get the WOW factors - ideal for invites, cards, POS and mailers
Foiling, die cutting, Spot UV, embossing, fragranced ink and paper... make your mail piece stand out
Print on paper does not have to be boring! Great design, use of colour, even choice of paper can all make print eye catching and bespoke to your brand. But sometimes, some mail pieces need to go that bit further. There are loads of different ways this can be done, and they don't always have to come at a high price.
Block foiling
Block foiling has always been a great way to achieve a premium finish. For example, with this invitation we produced for Palace Theatre & Opera House, Manchester. The DL sized invites were printed in a solid black with block foil gold to both sides. We then supplied plain black DL envelopes in which we inserted the inserted and printed and fixed address labels.
Traditionally this type of finishing was only cost-effective on medium to longer print runs, due to the cost of making blocks and dies. But, this has all changed with our latest piece of new kit... a laminator that's more than just a laminator! We can now create spot UV, foil blocking, glitter and holographic effects, and, because it doesn't use blocks and dies, it makes it affordable to create these special effects on short runs and bespoke, one off items. Whats more, we can even apply these effects to variable data. It really is an amazing piece of technology.
Get the look...
There's a whole range of foil colours available, from silver, gold and copper to vibrant reds, pinks, blue and greens, even white, and matt finishes. And the glitter and holographic finishes are fantastic too. This new machine really does open up a whole new world of creating special effects during the finishing process to give prints that extra 'wow' factor. It's ideal for packaging, business cards, stationery, book covers, security print, invitations and high end, bespoke print.
