Royal Mail incentive is extended for Q4

Give your trading a boost with Back to Business
Post more, save more, connect with more customers
At the start of the pandemic, Royal Mail introduced two Advertising Mail incentives to help organisations connect with customers through direct mail. And the good news is, they've just extended it again for Q4.
Both incentives are available to all sectors by helping to boost trading activity during these difficult times. It encourages business to continue to use direct mail by reaching deeper into their customer base or prospects list to drive additional sales or increase the frequency with which the brand is exposed to customers.
This latest Q4 extension runs from 28 December 2020 to 27 March 2021.
The two products are:
Back to Business
- An incentive for customers able to post a minimum of 50,000 items incremental mail items per quarter
Back to Business Extra
- Targeted at larger posting customers that can commit to sending a minimum of 2.5 million incremental mail items per quarter in return for an even more favourable postage credit rate.
The thinking behind these incentives:
- Volume is currently low but is expected to improve from December 2020 to March 2021.
- The volume baseline will be lower in 2020 than in 2019 but will increase over time.
- Set a minimum baseline of 55% from January to March.
How the incentives work:
- Compare you mailing volumes in Q2 2019 to Q2 2020
- Apply this trend rate to your Q4 2020 volumes
- Add 30% for Q4 to determine your baseline
- Set a minimum baseline versus 2020 of 55% in Q4
Postage credits will be pad into a customer's account or as a credit voucher, valid for 12 months.
