Royal Mail Back to Business

Further incentives to help businesses bounce back
Post more, save more, connect with more customers
Royal Mail have launched two new Advertising Mail incentives to help businesses connect with customers through direct mail. Both are available to all sectors and look to help customers boost their trading activity as lockdown restrictions are eased.
The two products are:
Back to Business
- An incentive for customers able to post a minimum of 50,000 items incremental mail items per quarter
Back to Business Extra
- Targeted at larger posting customers that can commit to sending a minimum of 2.5 million incremental mail items per quarter in return for an even more favourable postage credit rate.
The thinking behind these incentives:
- Volume is currently low but is expected to improve from July to December 2020
- The volume baseline will be lower in 2020 than in 2019 but will increase over time
- Set a minimum baseline of 30% for July to September and 45% for October to December
How the incentives work:
- Compare you mailing volumes in Q1 2019 to Q1 2020
- Apply this trend rate to your Q2 and Q3 2019 volumes
- Add 15% market growth for Q2 and 30% for A3 to determine your baseline
- Set a minimum baseline versus 2019 of 30% in Q2 and 45% in Q3
Postage credits will be pad into a customer's account or as a credit voucher, valid for 12 months.
