Paper wrap for catalogue and magazine mailings

We can now offer paper wrap to our range sustainable print and mail solutions.

Sustainability is something we're keen to promote at KJS and we encourage our customers to do the same.

That's why we've been investing in new technologies and systems to ensure we can provide print and mail solutions that don't cost the earth.

We've been running potato starch for some time, which has proved very popular. It's compostable and biodegradable and a great way to demonstrate to audience your commitment to sustainability. Potato starch can be disposed in home composting, garden or food waste bins. If it does get put in household waste, it will simply biodegrade.

Just for the record, our standard clear poly is wholly 'bad'. It can be recycled with carrier bags, in most areas of the country this needs to be done at large recycling centres often found at larger supermarkets which takes more of a conscious effort than being able to place it in your kerbside recycling bin. However, there are a few local authorities in the country which will take poly and carrier bags at kerbside, including our own Peterborough City Council!).

However, there is still a demand for creating full recyclable packs, and that's why we've decided to invest in Paper Wrapping!

Paper wrapping offers all the combined benefits of poly wrapping and envelope enclosing:
  • It's ideal for brochures, catalogues and newsletters.
  • It's lightweight so unlikely to effect pack weights, and therefore, postage costs
Plus:
  • It's 100% recyclable in kerbside bins nationwide
  • We can print the wraps in full colour with your bespoke design - perfect to carry a strong brand or campaign message and/or advertising
  • Printed on FSC stock
  • Allows the complete pack to be Carbon Offset

Paper wrapping works like poly but uses a single sheet of printed paper to wrap around the items to be mailed. We'll pre-print the sheets using your bespoke artwork. This can be full colour or single colour. You've got the option to print on one side of the sheet (ie the outer carrier) or both (a great way to get a strong, eye catching message on the inside of the pack when the reader opens it).

We've done a lot of testing to ensure the paper we use is strong enough to withstand the postage process, whilst light enough not to affect postage costs.

Paper wrapping is another addition to our complete sustainable print and mail services, which also include:

  • We carbon offset all our paper consumption – in the past 10 months this has created almost 1600m2 of new native woodland in the UK.
  • All our paper is FSC/PEFC certified
  • Our LED UV press is one of the most environmentally friendly print presses around. Using the latest in print technology, there's no solvent to evaporate which means no environmental pollutants are formed. It also uses less power than traditional print technology. An instant on/off functionality reduces standby consumption between jobs, helping to reduce overall C02 emissions.
  • All our services in-house, so we can keep production miles to a minimum.
  • All paper waste is recycled and a collection service is offered to clients to dispose of any unwanted paper.
  • All confidential waste is securely shredded on site and recorded to ISO 27001 accreditation standards
